City of Wollongong Economic Insight Report - December 2019

 KEY INSIGHTS  

  • Visitation to the City of Wollongong was up (135,936; 11.5%) in the December 2019 quarter compared to the previous quarter.

  • Domestic visitation increased with day-trippers growing by 21,925 (2%) and overnight visitors growing by 108,925 (56%).

  • International visitation rose (5,085; 34%) and was but was down from the same quarter the year before (-18.3%).

  • Average nights stayed by domestic visitors was 2.4 (four quarter average), up from the September four quarter average (2.2).

  • Average nights stayed by international visitors was 23.6 (four quarter average), up from the September four quarter average (23.1).
